Stopping at cafes are a must in Kyoto. Everywhere your turn there's something amazing to see. With all that walking it's important to refresh your mind, relax and soak in all of the beauty you’ve just witnessed with some tradition drinks and sweets.
Here are a few cafes you should check out next time you're around Kyoto station
MURMUR COFFEE KYOTO
Located aside a beautiful canal/river lined with cherry blossoms lies pure bliss. This cafe was by far one of my favorite. Small, and modern yet the place had a very traditional feel to it with the wood details and Japanese style outdoor floor patio seating. For drinks with a quiet residential view, this is the spot. Murmur cafe has a very small menu making it the ideal spot to stop for a quick drink and snack or if you're someone who enjoys a light breakfast. They offer a variety of toasts as well as soup and a few baked goodies.
ASK ME CAFE KYOTO
Probably my favorite spot of them all. I just love some great hospitality and a home style feel. Yamada Akihiro the owner, retired from a civil architecture career to open his very own corner cafe. It was simple, cozy with great vibes and yummy foods. It took everything in my power not to order everything on the menu but i almost did. We got very interesting thick pancakes, the bacon and egg plat and more scone than he had available. The scones are a must! He had an amazing selection of delicious, various homemade jams to try. This place is a much if you’re looking for cozy vibes and a chat.
LE9 CAFE
Hostel meets cafe meets bar. The place has it all. This cafe has a bit of a cozy western feel to it. Located right down the street from Kyoto stations Higashi (east) exit making it a perfect quick stop on your way in or out of Kyoto. You can enjoy yummy coffee or a nice western breakfast in a comfortable homey setting in Kyoto. Unlike many cafes, LE9 offers a nice full western style breakfast plate which is somewhat hard to come by.
KURASU KYOTO
What a vibe. This cafe is located about a 8 minute walk away from Kyoto station. Small trendy yummy and very modern. The owner is very knowledgeable and offers some great coffee and small baked goods. The matcha espresso latte is a must!
Yassss!

I Love It! I Am A HUGE FOODIE! I Can’t Express My Love For Food Any Other Way Than ‘Marriage’. The Photographs Used Are Clear. Plus The Treats, Food And Beverages Look Amazing! Definitely Will Be On The List For When My Sis And I Travel There. My Big Sis And I Were Planning On A April Trip To Japan Next Year, However, Rona Is…..A Piece Of Work LOL. Hoping That Everything Settles By Then And The U.S. Is Allowed To Travel Out!
